As Regional Vice President for the London-Lambton Market at RBC, Heather Austin is responsible for integrating RBC's lines of business to provide an exceptional client experience. Under her leadership, RBC has increased employee engagement and earned top client loyalty and business results in Atlantic and Southwestern Ontario. In 2018, the London-Lambton market was recognized as Best Bank in London, Ontario, as voted by the readers of the London Free Press.

An experienced leader in the financial services sector, Heather combines a commitment to client and business excellence with a passion for unlocking employee potential and team performance. Her commitment to workforce development comes from her own career experiences. She started her career as a pediatric nurse, and later as a certified genetic counsellor, where she counselled patients who had a strong family history of cancer before taking the leap from healthcare to financial services.

Heather is a passionate career coach that focuses on filling skills gaps and harnessing core competencies to help her teams reach their full potential. This focus on coaching and organizational excellence has propelled her teams to top tiers of excellence within RBC, and has earned her, and her team members multiple internal awards. Heather holds a Bachelor of Science from Dalhousie University, an executive MBA from St. Mary’s University, and is a Certified Professional Coach.

Heather serves as an Executive Champion in Southwestern Ontario for Future Launch, RBC's $500 million dollar commitment to help young Canadians prepare for a drastically changing workforce by pivoting based on core skills. She is also an active member of her community and has volunteered with the Children’s Health Foundation, London, ON, and a previous board member of Feed Nova Scotia and the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Nova Scotia. She is a frequent speaker on the topic of overcoming challenges, achieving your full potential, and navigating career changes.

Heather lives in London, ON with her husband Bill and their golden retriever Seamus.
